I supervise PhD researchers as copromotor, together with a candidate’s promotor. Since 2016 I have taken on this and related roles as co-supervisor, external reviewer, and member of examination committees at universities in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Norway, and Australia. Many (but not all) of these dissertations have applied Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA).
When PhD positions are funded through projects I lead, supervision follows the standard arrangement at VU Amsterdam, with a promotor from my department and myself as copromotor for the regular supervision.
